Default Checking oil level on i3 REX

I have been using BMW's own forum to discuss the instructions for checking the engine oil level in my i3 REX. You are supposed to do it each time you fill up with fuel - this is plainly unrealistic when you can only do 70 -100 miles on petrol engine charging before needing to fill up again.

Even the procedure for checking the engine oil is not easy and if it is low, you are not allowed to do it yourself as it is a dealer task. This would not be tempting me to drive the car to Scotland's Isle of Skye where the nearest BMW dealer is a very long way away.

BMW admits that when I did 400 miles in one day using the REX petrol engine for most of the time, I would not need to check the engine oil. I gave BMW various suggestions and BMW HQ will be looking at this issue. What owners want is sensible guidance on engine oil checking.
